Today we are combining our weekly playlist Friday and our Google Girl’s Blog! I interviewed everyone in the office to make this master list of their favorite songs from the hottest albums of the summer. This season was fantastic for so many reasons, the constant stream of music was an essential factor. P.S. We included some of our Google Guys, too!
As we head into the start of the school year, we are going remember all the fun we had Turning Clicks into Clients at Results Driven Marketing this summer. Take a minute and check out our playlist and relive some of the memories with us!
Lust for Life- Lana Del Rey
Favorite Songs: Summer Bummer Ft. Asap Rocky & Heroin
Lana Del Rey is my favorite artist of all time. I am always overjoyed when she releases a new album, especially when it is in the summer. The vibes on this album were the sound track of my summer. Summer Bummer is a song I first heard while tanning on the beach and it takes me back to the mindset every time I hear it. Heroin, on the other hand, is a tragically beautiful ballad about life, and love. I recommend having a box of tissues close by.
Pretty Girls Like Trap Music – 2 Chainz
Favorite Songs- It’s a Vibe ft. Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz & Jhené Aiko, & Big Amount ft. Drake
2 Chainz always makes the best songs to listen to while hanging out with friends. These two songs show the album’s range of party songs to relaxing vibes. The collaborations are spot on, too!
Heart Break – Lady Antebellum
Favorite Songs: Heart Break & Somebody Else’s Heart
Lady Antebellum is perfect for people who enjoy jamming out to classic country; their new album is no exception!
Memories Do Not Open- Chainsmokers
Favorite Songs: Paris & Honest
The Chainsmokers dropped their first album this summer. People were nervous about the DJs producing a full-size project, but overall it is a great album. Paris is a dreamy song that reminds me of summer teenage love. Honest is, in my opinion, is a little different than the rest of their songs, in a good way!
My Moment- Tee Grizzley
Favorite Songs: First Day Out & No Effort
This guy came out of nowhere! “First Day Out” is Tee Grizzley’s biggest song right now, but the whole album is fantastic.
Wins and Losses- Meek Mill
Favorite Songs: Glow Up & Whatever You Need
Meek Mill is a Philadelphia classic. Anytime he releases an album you can hear it in the streets, house parties, even in stores. Meek has received some pretty significant critiques in the last few years, but this album made up for it.
Ctrl. – SZA
Favorite Songs: Say It Like Dat & The Weekend
Sza single handily gave us the girl power anthem of the summer, year, and possibility the decade. I recommend listening to this whole album front to back. It reminds me of a cool older sister, who’s been through it all with boys, career success, and life-giving advice to an eager younger sister.
DAMN. – Kendrick Lamar
Favorite Songs: Humble & DNA
Kendrick is a classic. His albums are timeless and DAMN is no exception. I love listening to his while running; it gives me a boost to keep going!
Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1- Calvin Harris
Favorite Songs: Slide & Heatstroke
This album is so diverse. There are different moods to each song. I love all the random collaborations and features and how Harris blends different genres seamlessly.
